Summer’s End seeks to be an inclusive and safe space for all community members, and recognizes a wide variety of experiences with substance use. For this reason, Summer’s End prohibits recreational substance use during the conference. (This includes alcohol and marijuana use).
Summer’s End seeks to be an inclusive and safe space for all community members, and recognizes a wide variety of abilities and medical experiences. For this reason, Summer’s End supports conferees’ medical autonomy and medication needs. (This includes medical marijuana use.)
For these reasons, medical substance use should be kept personal and not become a recreational or social behavior. Additionally, conversations about medications (and other substances) should be careful not to shame anyone or make anyone feel unsafe or excluded.
Any issues or questions with the drug policy should be brought up with a staff person before or at the conference.
